To add more teacher content to our site, the SeedPD Blog is sharing one teacher-created SMART Exchange file every Friday. All files shared will be Common Core relevant, and we’ll be sure to share with you the standard(s) being addressed.
This entry is a file entitled “Multiplying Exponents”. As a former high school math teacher, I know that exponent rules can be very difficult to teach. In this Notebook file, students start off with a warm up that reminds them there is a difference between adding and multiplying terms with exponents. Then, the file walks students through exponent multiplication rules. This lesson is very interactive, and employs the effective use of pull tabs to provide hints and keep students engaged. Enjoy!
