To add more teacher content to our site, the SeedPD Blog is sharing one teacher-created SMART Exchange file every Friday. All files shared will be Common Core relevant, and we’ll be sure to share with you the standard(s) being addressed.
This entry is a file entitled “Punctuation Endmarks”. In this file, students will learn the three main types of punctuation: period, question mark, and exclamation point. After initial definitions and examples, students are able to come to the SMART Board and practice using the end marks in new sentences. Answer choices are linked so that pressing the correct answer on the Board yields a “correct” page, while incorrect answer presses yield an “incorrect” page. There is a cumulative review of the end marks towards the end of the file, followed by a brief introduction to commas and colons. This has been a very popular lesson the Exchange (downloaded nearly 20,000 times). Enjoy!
