To add more teacher content to our site, the SeedPD Blog is sharing one teacher-created SMART Exchange file every Friday. All files shared will be Common Core relevant, and we’ll be sure to share with you the standard(s) being addressed.
This entry is a file entitled “Alphabet Hip Hop Handwriting”. In this file, hip hop will be used to teach students about the alphabet and the sounds of its letters! The main page features three great, upbeat raps that teach students the letters of the alphabet, the requisite sounds, as well as age appropriate word examples with each letter. To hear the songs, all you have to do is press the speaker icon below each title.
Each subsequent page is dedicated to each letter of the alphabet. Every page has an example of the letter in uppercase and lowercase, as well as a short rap about that letter, its pronunciation, and examples. There is also a large space for students to practice writing the upper and lower case letter on the Notebook page!
Common Core Standards Addressed: LA.K.L, LA.K., LA.K.L.CCR.1, LA.K.L.K.1, LA.K.L.K.1.a
